Reaching over the half century mark I continue to be amazed of how much more there is left to discover. The exciting part is that you can easily be a life-long learner if you open your heart and mind. Each day I seem to learn something new and grow from it. If life was a theme park, 2019 puts me in one of those lines that traverses back and forth where you lift your toes, tilt your head and stretch as you are trying to catch a glimpse what is to come. This is a line for a brand-new ride, something I have not experienced before. Sure, I’ve read about and talked with other who have experienced it, but this is a first for me.
Only a few days into 2019 I have already begun to experience several of what should be many firsts. In late 2018 I formed The Luvera Group, LLC. I never thought I would own a business as I never had an interest in business practices. The creation of The Luvera Group, LLC was simply a vehicle for me to continue to do things that I am passionate about. I feel accomplished when I can help someone else in some fashion. I am passionate about leadership, organizational cultures and team building. The Luvera Group, LLC allows me to offer my passions to others, working with others to make them and their organizations better, all the while giving me the joy of experiencing growth, change and accomplishment.
Another first is the writing of this blog. I knew the term blog but really had no idea how to write a blog. I began to research blog writing and before I knew it, I was engaged in daily learning. Blogs came from the term “web log” and are now defined as being writings of personal commentary or opinion. They might be written about reflections and may even include photographs, videos or website links. I am still not certain if now that I have written a blog (that has yet to be published or read), am I called a blogger? More learning to come.
This year of firsts includes the building of a website, the creation of a logo, printing business cards, competing countless forms for tax and licensing purposes all done so I can continue to grow, learn and share with others. The line of life is not as simple as the line we experience at a theme park. Theme park lines offer glimpses of the immediate future by telling us “from this point your adventure is 30 minutes away”. I can say that from my place in the line of life, my ride in 2019 looks to be bright and shiny. I sure hope that unlike theme park rides, my 2019 adventure doesn’t come to a quick halt on a platform where smiling people are telling me to get off and exit this way. May your ride in 2019 be safe, exciting and full of adventure.
